Supporting School Attendance and Preventing Exclusion
Our aim is to help children and young people overcome barriers to learning and develop strategies that support them to attend school full time, with a reduced risk of exclusion or suspension.
We work in close partnership with school staff to:
- Identify the specific barriers and challenges a child or young person is facing
- Collaborate on positive, practical solutions
- Ensure that the support is aligned with both the child’s needs and the school’s approach
Our support is flexible and may include:
- In-class support, helping the young person manage expectations and stay engaged
- Implementing agreed strategies in collaboration with school staff
- One-to-one support outside the classroom to build confidence and coping strategies
- Home-based support to strengthen routines and prepare for school attendance
- Community-based sessions to develop social skills and resilience in everyday environments
By addressing emotional, behavioural, and practical barriers, we aim to promote positive engagement with education and long-term success in school.
